What To Do

During your stay at Myraka

Explore Utopia Nature Estate

More than a place to stay, Utopia and its surroundings offer a variety of activities of all kind. From exploring our trails, to visit historical sites or attraction parks, the area will know how to charm all family members.

Utopia Bush Trails

From open grassland to woodland, Utopia has beautiful walking trails with breathtaking views, river and rock pools. The trails are well indicated on-site and easy for all family members. It is a good opportunity to discover our natural reserve.

Baboons Sanctuary

Myraka is the perfect place for you to connect and watch Baboons Mama feeding their babies, watch them jump around and climb the trees.

*DO NOT FEED THE BABOONS AND ALWAYS KEEP THE DOORS CLOSE WHEN YOU LEAVE

Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site

The Cradle of Humankind is a significant UNESCO World Heritage Site about 50 km northwest of Johannesburg. It is the site where many of the oldest hominid fossils have been found, some date back as far as 3.5 million years ago.

Maropeng Visitor Centre

Just a one-hour drive from Utopia Nature Estate is the place where we all became human. This is where our story began, and by coming here, you are coming “home”. Maropeng means “returning to the place of origin” in Setswana, the main indigenous language in this region.
